Kingscliff is a quiet , beachside town with a population of around 7,500. It is situated on the beautiful northern New South Wales coastline about 10 minutes south of the NSW/QLD border, It is a short 10 – 15 minute drive south from Coolangatta Airport and 25 minutes north to Surfers Paradise. In just 40 minutes you can be in renowned Byron Bay – Australia’s most easterly point, or if you are traveling north allow 1 ½ hours to Brisbane Airport.
Find us: Only ten minutes south of the Tweed Heads Coolangatta CBD . Heading south along Pacific highway from Gold Coast Airport, take Kingscliff/Fingal exit over Barneys Point bridge and follow signs to Kingscliff. Blue Waters motel is on the last corner before the beach at the north end of Kingscliff opposite the soccer fields.
Kingscliff over recent years has become a popular alternative to the Gold Coast as it can offer the same fine dining experience, without the hassle of traffic and crowds. Restaurants range from a-la-carte to café’ style with everything from Thai, Seafood and Chinese to Katmandu, Italian or Moroccan! You can also BBQ on the 2 km stretch of parkland along the ocean and estuary.
Kingscliff is also well positioned for your eco touring with three heritage rainforests, and Mt. Warning only 45 minutes to the west. The Tweed River offers good fishing, boating, and skiing with some of the most famous Australian surf beaches such as Duranbah, Cabarita, Snapper Rocks and Kirra only 10-15 minutes drive.
The northern N.S.W. is host to several popular events weekly , monthly and annually. Kingscliff has a farmers and friends market with fruit, plants and crafts every 2nd and 4th Saturday.
Extended shopping is available on Thursday night and weekends. The popular Lantern Night markets are the 1st Friday of each month.
Outdoor concerts are now a regular event at nearby Salt and Casuarina as well as many international entertainers at Twin Towns Club in Tweed Heads.
“TASTE” is a 10 day Food Festival held in Kingscliff and surrounds during July. Local growers and restaurants come together to exhibit the fresh produce of the area.
Coolangatta’s annual “Cooly Rocks On”Festival in June attracts visitors from afar to enjoy the bygone Rock’n’Roll era.
The famous Byron “Blues Festival is about 30 minutes away and courtesy buses operate regularly to the also.
